This painting is part of a group exhibition called "The Real Thing" at Mason Murer Fine Art in Atlanta, Georgia. The exhibition commemorates Coca-Cola's 125th year.

Thinking about the entire breadth and history of Coca-Cola, I found myself particularily interested in the songs, jingles and slogans they have used over the decades. They do that thing where they transport you back to a time and place.

The lyrics to this early 1990s ad are where I drew from for this painting. I have a growing collection of primary readers and early school text books, and the titles always seem poetic and inspirational. I altered the titles on some books and used the lyrics in their place, and they fit in perfectly.
